Rumor: Verizon HTC Trophy available starting March 24th?

WPCentral sister site, Android Central, got their hands on what looks to be a leaked memo from Verizon that was intended for authorized retailers only. Two hotly anticipated gadgets finally seem to have release dates, but the one we’re focusing on is the same Verizon phone that’s been seen in the wild before.

The HTC Trophy from Verizon looks like it’s slated to launch on March 24th as the first Windows Phone on the nation’s largest network. The memo includes a disclaimer saying that the dates are subject to change, but considering that the Android-powered HTC Thunderbolt has reportedly been delayed for past few weeks these dates could hold up. The Trophy also has some extra advantages over other Windows Phones as it has support for both CDMA as well as a SIM card slot for GSM networks, qualifying it as a Global Phone on the network.

The lack of a Windows Phone on Verizon has surely been a sorely missed opportunity for Microsoft but if the phone is arriving in a little less than two weeks, customers of Big Red can finally stop worrying about choosing between all of those Droids.

With Sprint’s HTC Arrive launching just four days earlier than this rumored release, customers who chose CDMA carriers as their preferred networks can finally ditch those Windows Mobile handsets for the right platform.
