Rafael Rivera is a name that should be well known to WP7 fans, but to those who don't know him he is currently the biggest name in the WP7 homebrew movement having created the ChevronWP7 jailbreak. Since then Microsoft invited him and his homebrew team to meet and discuss about all things homebrew in the Windows Phone world and buzz coming out of that meeting has been positive.
So if there is anyone that is a part of the general populace that could know the release date for the highly anticipated NoDo update, it would be him. And apparently that is exactly what has happened; Rivera took to Twitter and responded to a fan's dismay of the Focus' update stall by saying, "Should see it Monday". Microsoft writer Mary J Foley at ZDNet received that tweet and asked which update the Focus was receiving and Rivera simply responded "Both".
What is currently unknown is if every WP7 phone is receiving the NoDo update starting Monday or if things will start with the 2-in-1 for the Samsung Focus and progress from there. Also, one can only assume that Rivera is talking about the AT&T Focus based on the context of the tweets, so Canadian Focus owners may not want to get their hopes too high.
While this is still not an official confirmation and requires a Rumor tag, I would be shocked to see Rivera be wrong about this and also directly lie to Mary J Foley, one of the most highly respected Microsoft-specialized reporters. Start counting down to Monday, Focus owners! Your troubles could soon be over.
