They just won't let you rest in peace, will they Julie? Back in March, pictures leaked of a potential Sony Ericsson Windows Phone rocking a slide out QWERTY keyboard codenamed Julie. Later it was confirmed that Jule was in fact just an early prototype and plans for the device were cancelled. Despite Sony Ericsson even going so far as to make a working prototype handset for Windows Phone, in a recent interview with MobileBeat the company stilled remained hesitant to jump on the bandwagon.

While Android is the main focus of the company, it will still have a door open for Windows Phone 7. But it won’t be making any products if the operating system doesn’t take off, Uddenfeldt said. (It did previously manufacture phones with Windows Mobile OS.)

Considering how volatile the Android market is, it's puzzling to think Sony Ericsson wouldn't jump on the chance to support a nascent platform. Sure Android is exploding right now and for good reason, but Sony Ericsson isn't exactly synonymous with the OS and one would think it could be worth their time to test out a Windows Phone while the platform is still growing. We suppose it's their loss, but then again Julie did look stunning in her youth, didn't she?
