AT&T Selling Official MicroSD Cards for WP7, Focus Owners Scream in Joy Across the World

I think there's only one phrase needed to describe how I feel about this story: that took long enough!

For those unfamiliar with many a Focus owners frustrations, here's a quick recap: the Samsung Focus is currently the only Windows Phone that has a microSD slot open and available to use but WP7 is apparently really picky about what you stick in there. If you put in the wrong card you could suffer from a host of problems from temporary data loss, to random resets, to permanent data loss. To make matters worse, once you put in a microSD card in the Focus it can't be reused in anything else because WP7 "binds" it to the internal memory. So if you spent $60 on a high performance memory card which crapped out and couldn't be formatted without the use of a Symbian device (oh, the irony) you'd be pissed too. There was a huge uproar about it a few weeks after the Focus launched but since then the crowd has silenced and most assumed Microsoft didn't bother coming up with a real solution to the problem.

...but it looks like they were looking for a solution! Engadget just received exclusive photos from a tipster of an 8GB Sandisk microSD card branded by AT&T and guess what? It has a Windows Phone logo on it! It's unknown whether these cards are widely available yet, but if it's already leaked the card shouldn't take too long to make the rounds at your local AT&T store and will probably ring up at $32 + tax. Check out the source link for more photos and start saving those pennies!
