During their coverage of Dude, Where's My Update?, an app that tells your phone when your NoDo update is coming, WPCentral seems to have stumbled on to something even more valuable in regards to updates.
New build numbers of the Windows Phone OS were spotted in the app, and they could be either Mango or maybe the rumored update before that. How do they know it's different than maybe a modified build of NoDo? Well all of the new builds are following a new numbering pattern:
The builds [...] may signify a new milestone with the 7.1.xxxx denotation versus the earlier 7.0.xxxx. Currently, the latest confirmed build is 7.0.7390 and the most frequent for NoDo is 7.0.7389.Is Microsoft planning to unveil a new version of WP7 at MIX next week? If they are (which I believe they are) it seems as though test builds are already in the wild. That means that we could be seeing a post-NoDo update sooner than we may have originally thought.
