Well yesterday’s promise of a NoDo Monday didn’t work out, but today could be a good day for you if you own a HTC Windows Phone and aren’t afraid to get your hands messy for a little hacking. The truly dedicated community over at XDA-Developers Forums recently got their hands on real, genuine ROMs direct from HTC for the Trophy, Mozart, and HD7. (Sorry Surround and Pro!)
All of these ROMs come with NoDo and are unbranded meaning that you won’t get any carrier-specific junk along with your new copying & pasting skills. According to a few sources, NoDo is exactly what Microsoft detailed at CES with no pleasant surprises to be found as of yet, but the added copy/paste functionality (a huge boost to the usefulness of Office) as well as the overall speed improvements should make the update worthwhile.
For the rest of you who are still waiting, keep your ears open for official word from Microsoft within the week. That ‘Early March’ timeframe is closing fast and we could be seeing the update any day now.
Warning: The phone could become bricked if you make a wrong move, so be careful and make sure you read the directions!
