Bloomberg Claims Nokia is Receiving Over $1 Billion from Microsoft

Bloomberg Businessweek just broke news that maybe there was a monetary transaction involved with the important Nokia-Microsoft partnership announced in January. Contradicting earlier denials of any money being involved from both sides of the fence, Bloomberg has two sources claiming that there was a deal between the two that cost Microsoft over $1 billion.

The report also claims that Microsoft isn’t walking away from this with just an empty wallet; they will also have access to Nokia’s patent portfolio. Once the deal is finalized between the two, it should last for more than five years. Well after coming off from today’s crushing ComScore report, it looks like Microsoft really will need Nokia for that long.
