Microsoft claims that AT&T is the Windows Phone 'premier carrier' and after the release of this beast, we wouldn't doubt them. The HTC HD7S is available now and while it isn't as highly-anticipated as Verizon's first Windows Phone, but you can bet T-Mobile users are feeling a little bit of envy for that shiny new Super LCD display. But do the critics think the new screen is worth the price and the contract? Here's the Review Roundup:

CNET
The HTC HD7S delivers on many fronts, including a large, crisp display and fast performance. Unfortunately, the subpar camera and call quality prevent us from giving it a higher score. Unless you absolutely crave the larger screen, the Samsung Focus is still our top pick of AT&T's Windows Phone devices. The HTC HD7S will be available starting June 5 for $199.99 with a two-year contract. [Overall score: 7.7]

PhoneArena
Although it’s the latest thing to grace AT&T’s lineup, the HTC HD7S doesn’t dethrone the Samsung Focus as the carrier’s best WP7 handset. Moreover, its $200 on-contract price is undoubtedly hard to swallow considering that it doesn’t differ tremendously from the original model. Revolting in a way, we’re sad to see that the latest crop of WP7 devices on the market are none other than recycled models like this one, but it’s even worse for the HD7S since it doesn’t receive a fitting price point. Smartphone Nation
The HD7S is our favorite AT&T Windows Phone 7 device currently available. It has some impressive specs and performs flawlessly. Windows Phone 7 still has a ways to go, but it will be getting better when the Mango update hits in the fall. Overall we recommend the HD7S to those who want to get into smartphones or those who are die hard Microsoft fans.

The HTC HD7S will be very appealing to AT&T Customers (or anyone else for that matter) looking to make the move to a Windows Phone. The 4.3" Super LCD screen is nice with regards to both touch responsiveness and image quality. The phone feels good in the hand and performs very good for day to day use. [...] Now the more complicated question.  As someone who already owns a Focus, I don't think the HD7S is strong enough to pull me away. However, if you own neither, the choice could be more difficult to make. [...] One thing is for certain, AT&T has a very healthy and respectful line up of Windows Phones. The HD7S only adds to the strength of this line up and should you choose the HD7S, I don't think you'll be disappointed. [9.0 out of 10]
