Stay Social On Windows Phone Daily!

The internet was once described as a 'series of tubes', but since then those tubes have become pretty friendly with each other. So today I'm proud to announce that our tubes are going to become great friends with your tubes: Windows Phone Daily has gone social!

If you take a look around the site, you may notice some new features. For one, we've completely revamped the comments system. Now instead of the tired Blogger default comments, WPD is using a new comments system powered by Intense Debate! Now you don't even need a blogger or Google account to leave your next rant in our comments. Instead you can leave a post with your Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress, or IntenseDebate account saving you the hassle of remembering yet another username and password. Also, if you're afraid of commitment (we've all been there) you can post comments as a Guest and retain your social anonymity.

Also in the new comments system, we've implemented the tried-and-true feature of comment ranking. If someone makes a good point about a topic that you'd like others to read, just click on the thumbs up and you'll see a point added. But if you see spam or someone who's pretty much there to rain on the parade, you also have the option to downrank them by clicking on the thumbs down button which results in negative points. Also if a comment is clearly advertising a product or service that isn't related to any topics on this site, you may report the comment and I will take a closer look at that user. In rare occasions, I will intervene if comments get out of control but for the most part I'm hoping the community can sustain itself.

But that's not all! Now WPD is more tightly integrated with both Facebook and Twitter than ever. First of all, Windows Phone Daily is available to follow on Facebook and if you didn't know already we've also been on Twitter for a few weeks now. On to the real social networking goodness: you can now Like or Tweet any articles on WPD you want to share with your friends! Just click on either button found at the bottom of each post and spread the word.

Are you curious to see what people on Twitter are saying about Windows Phone 7? On the right sidebar there's a new Twitter gadget that's beaming in every tweet with the hashtag #WP7 included. Who knows, if you time it right your tweet just may show up there too! Also, do you want to know what are the most Like'd posts from WPD on Facebook are? There's also a new Facebook gadget in the sidebar that shows site visitors' activity.
