During the insanity of MIX '11, we forgot to mention that Microsoft's Eric Hautala made a brief post regarding NoDo updates and his announcement was sort of the opposite: AT&T wouldn't be pushing out NoDo yet. Though hope is not lost yet! While as of today AT&T has officially missed their promised "Early April" release date, Winrumors has just gotten their hands on an internal AT&T email that states the NoDo roll out is going to begin on April 19th.
Apparently, only the Samsung Focus and the LG Quantum will be the recipients of the April 19th rollout. So what does fate have in store for the HTC Surround's update? A delay. Until mid-May. Not cool. Honestly, if AT&T manages to roll out NoDo later than April 19th one can only imagine how hard it must be for Microsoft to call them their "premier carrier".
Update: Microsoft just confirmed it! Plus here's the official reason behind the HTC Surround's delay as explained by Eric Hautala:
The updates we deliver contain a complex stew of software code. The content often includes not only our fixes and improvements but also software supplied by companies that make the phone itself and the chips inside it. One of these third-party software “packages” earmarked for the HTC Surround needs additional testing by both Microsoft and AT&T.Via: WMPoweruser
