Rumor: Pair of HTC Windows Phones Leak

PocketNow reports about a few new HTC Windows Phones that have leaked in the form of concept renders from site XDA.cn. These two came along with renders of the rumored HTC Pyramid running Android, so the leak could be a legitimate one.

First up is the HTC Ignite...and it looks like your basic HTC slate and is very similar aesthetically to the Trophy. But the Ignite changes things up in at least one important area: instead of running the current Chassis 1 specs the phone swaps the 1Ghz Snapdragon for a more efficient 800Mhz processor. What's more, the Ignite is said to have a resistive screen instead of the typically more finger-friendly capacitive screen found on all of the current Windows Phones. These two details have called the legitimacy of this rumor into question, but these aren't too drastic--800Mhz are typically found in mid-range smartphones and the technology found in resistive screens has increased dramatically in recent years to the point where it is almost as reliable as capacitive screens. The only true limitation of resistive screens is the inability for multitouch, but there have been phones hacked to register multitouch on resistive displays, so anything is really possible. Besides those two differences, the rest of the specs remain unchanged and include a 5MP camera, 3.7" WVGA display, and 512MB of RAM. If the rumor works out, expect this one to pop up on our radars in mid 2011.

The second device to leak is the HTC Prime and this time things aren't quite as dramatic. Instead what we have here is a HTC Pro/Arrive with a stiff back and rounder keys. The Prime's concept render shows off a slider that looks to lock in at 180-degrees similar to their G2. The Prime also has slightly rounder keys than that of Sprint's latest and it also seems to be much thinner. Besides that the specs are decidedly boring and stick to the Chassis 1 requirements and features another 3.7" display.

Mind you, the Prime was just found in a Telestra inventory database alongside the Pyramid, so these devices could still turn out. With that in mind, is anyone impressed with HTC's latest? Or are these two D.O.A.?
