Mango update dramatically improves storage memory speed

So we know that Mango is a significant improvement in performance based by feel, but how does it perform in raw numbers? MobileTechWorld took their Mango beta-infused Omnia 7 under the microscope with performance benchmark app WP Bench to answer just that question. The biggest surprise was a significant boost in the storage memory access speed, which leaped up from 3.82 MB/s in NoDo to a whopping 13.07 MB/s in the beta. We're suspicious of that 13.07 MB/s number because as you can see in the above picture that's the same number the memory speed test achieved, which makes us believe WP Bench may need a Mango update in order to properly gauge hardware performance. But then again, they ran another test with a larger file and received similar performance for storage speed and a higher result memory, so maybe it's just a coincidence. Either way, we know Mango includes speed boosts anyway so it's safe to say we won't be losing sleep over these numbers.
